Buick 1932!

Lawrence Sterne Stevens was an American cartoonist and illustrator for pulp fantasy and science fiction. He studied under the German born artist Robert Koehler, who encouraged him together with Alphonse Mucha to move to Belgium in 1910 to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. From 1925 to 1937 Stevens worked as a designer and illustrator for the Geneal Motors Company in Brussels and Antwerp. In 1941 he continued his career as a freelance illustrator in New York. The Buick Motor Company was founded in 1903 by David Dunbar Buick in Flint, Michigan. Buick sold the company to James Whiting, and under the management of William Durant, Buick became the largest automobile manufacturer in America. In 1908 Durant founded General Motors as a holding company above Buick and the company continued to grow from there. Buick gained a reputation as a reliable automobile. During World War I they also produced aircraft engines and ambulances. By 1925 Buicks were being exported around the world, including to Belgium and the Netherlands and eventually shipping parts were sent to Belgium for local assembly. GM and Buick still exist to this day.
