De Dion-Bouton

De Dion-Bouton

Lithograph on paper Henri Thiriet was a rather withdrawn personality who made his name with memorable posters of cycling and automobiles. Thiriet was a highly productive French poster artist, book illustrator and painter. He painted in a flamboyant Art Nouveau style. The poster very clearly presents a new lifestyle for the woman behind the wheel. She has a newly acquired freedom and no longer needs her chauffeur. This work was produced, printed and published by Lemaire Lith and J. Barreau in Paris.
