De Targa Florio 1907

In 1907 Cavalieri Florio organized the second Targa Florio over a mountainous 277 mile circuit in Sicily. Felice Nazzaro and Vincenzo Lancia dominated the race in their Fiats, but although Lancia set a new lap record, it was Nazzaros car (shown here) that won. Nazzaros average speed was 33.5 mph. It was an excellent year for the Italian driver, with victories in this race, the German Kaiserpreis and the French Grand Prix.
