Hall was active as a racing driver from 1922 to 1951. During that time he was a successful amateur on various circuits such as Brooklands, Donington Park, Shelsley Walsh and in the Mille Miglia. He is famous for having driven the 24 Hours of Le Mans solo. He is shown here in an MG Magnette. This series of caricatures was created by Frederick Gordon Crosby in 1935. The drivers depicted were famous among British motorsport enthusiasts at the time, especially for their performances on the Brooklands banked circuit and at major events on the continent.
