
Kay Petre (1903-1994)-karikatuur
Kay Petre was Canadian by birth. As a racing driver she had success in England with the makes Austin, Invicta, Bugatti and the ex-Cobb 10.5 liter Delage. In 1937 she was involved in a serious crash at Brooklands, when her Austin was hit by Parnells MG Magnette. She suffered severe head injuries, which brought an end to her racing career. Later she worked as a journalist. This series of caricatures was created by Frederick Gordon Crosby in 1935. The drivers depicted were famous at the time among British motorsport enthusiasts, especially for their appearances on the Brooklands banked circuit and at major events on the continent.
