Lithograph on paper Alexis Kow (Kojewnikow) was a Russian artist who studied at the Technical College of Arts and Crafts in Geneva. After he had broken his ties with Russia following the 1917 revolution, he caught the automobile bug through his Swiss host family. His first job was in the design department of a coachbuilder in Levallois. He soon became known for his perfect perspective as a draftsman and started his own design studio. From 1922 onward, Kow designed Art Deco inspired illustrations for Panhard et Levassor (1886–1967). His illustrations were exceptional either through the use of a fully developed landscape perspective or through the simplicity of a powerful interplay of lines. He also worked for, among others, Englebert tires, Peugeot and Air France. Editions Steff, Paris
