RAI Automobile Exhibition 1928

RAI Automobiel Tentoonstelling 1928

Lithograph on paper The RAI Association, in full 'De Nederlandsche Vereniging de Rijwiel en Automobiel Industrie', was founded on 17 December 1893 by bicycle manufacturers. What was then called RI, 'De Rijwiel Industrie', soon became known in 1900 as the RAI, 'De Rijwiel en Automobiel Industrie'. The RAI exhibition was a central, annual, national event to promote bicycles and automobiles. The 1928 RAI exhibition, depicted in this poster by an unknown artist, was held in the RAI's own building on Ferdinand Bolstraat in Amsterdam. The artist has managed to capture the enormous size of the exhibition space of 13,000 M2. His use of color further emphasizes the depth of the image. Lithographer M.A. Jacobson, Haarlem
