The Collision Part I

The Collision Part I

An unknown artist (who signs with the initial A) focuses on an early accident response automobile that is driving at high speed to the scene of an accident. The driver is leaning forward and highly focused (as can be seen in the emphasis on his goggled eyes) as he navigates busy streets littered with horse drawn carriages. The police officer precariously positioned at the front of the automobile is also leaning forward and holding onto the wing of the automobile, again suggesting the speed at which they are driving. He has a whistle in hand and is prepared for any action that may be required of him on the way to and at the collision. The expression on his face suggests that he too is focused on what lays ahead and he almost seems to be looking at the driver to hurry up. This is Part I of a diptych.
