The Hon. Brian Lewis (1903-1978)-karikatuur
Brian Lewis was a successful competitor in long-distance races such as the Mille Miglia and the Alpine Trial in the 1930s. He is best known for his races in a Talbot, but he also competed in Fraser Nash cars. In the French Grand Prix at Montlhery in 1930 he shared a 2.3 liter Bugatti with Earl Howe, and in the Belgian 24-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps he drove a 2.3 liter Alfa Romeo together with Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin. This series of caricatures was created by Frederick Gordon Crosby in 1935. The drivers depicted were famous among British motorsport enthusiasts at the time, especially for their performances on the Brooklands banked circuit and at major events on the continent.
