Whitney Straight (1912-1979)-karikatuur

Whitney Straight began racing in a Maserati in 1932 while he was a student at the University of Cambridge. 1933 was a successful year for him, with victories at Brooklands. He then decided to set up his own Grand Prix team. During the 1934 season, the Whitney Straight Team took part in the most important Grands Prix with their blue and white Maserati 8CM cars. This series of caricatures was created by Frederick Gordon Crosby in 1935. The drivers depicted were famous among British motorsport enthusiasts at the time, especially for their performances on the Brooklands banked circuit and at major events on the continent.
