XIe Salon International De L’Automobile Moto et Cycle Geneve 1934
1934
Henri Fehr was a Swiss painter and graphic designer. After a two year engineering apprenticeship he went on to study at the Beaux-Arts and at the School of Industrial Arts in Geneva, followed by the Julian Academy in Paris. Fehr was clearly inspired by Art Deco in his numerous landscapes and also influenced by Cubism in his poster masterpieces. This bold and vibrant design combines elegance and innovation to promote the 11th International Motor Show in Geneva in 1934. The Salon was first held in 1905 and hosted almost all major internal combustion engine models and steam powered models since the beginning of the century. In 2024 the show was still being held in Gevena, but due to a general lack of interest by manufacturers the event has been cancelled for 2025 and beyond.
