Trophies, flags and other memorabilia objects in red display cases.

The passion for the automobile extends far beyond the vehicles themselves. Since the earliest days of the car, artists, craftsmen and designers have been inspired by the speed, the engineering and the unparalleled elegance of the machine. At the Louwman Museum you can discover one of the worlds most diverse collections of memorabilia, telling the story of the automobile through art and objects.

Miniatures

From the moment the first automobiles appeared on the road, miniature versions were made, often with a striking resemblance to the originals. In addition, from the 1930s onward there were the so called Spindizzies, which raced on special tracks at speeds of over 200 kilometers per hour.

Sculptures and trophies

Many visual artists were inspired by the automobile to create special objects. Not only for exhibitions but also as prizes at motorsport events. Materials such as silver, bronze and porcelain were used for this.
