In Memoriam Peter Louwman

We are saddened to have learned of the passing of the passionate collector Peter Louwman.

With his unparalleled passion and dedication to telescopes and other optical instruments, Peter assembled a unique collection that has not only enriched our museum but has also gained great international renown. He shared his profound knowledge of the instruments and of astronomy with great pleasure with his professional peers, fellow collectors, and other interested parties. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Peter Louwman. We hope they find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on in the Louwman Museum.
