Louwman Museum at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014
July 1, 2014
The Louwman Museum was once again represented this year at the famous motorsport event Goodwood Festival of Speed in the south of England.
The event is essentially a hill climb, featuring both competitive and demonstration elements. No fewer than four cars from the Louwman Museum collection took part: the 1957 Jaguar D-Type XKD 606, two Maseratis, the 1932 8C3000 and the 1933 8CM Monoposto Grand Prix Car and the exceptionally spectacular 2013 Toyota Camry V8 5.9 liter Nascar.
The race was won this year by multiple rally champion Sebastian Loeb at the wheel of a Peugeot built for the famous Pikes Peak, in a time of 44.6 seconds.

The length of the hill climb is 1.1 miles (approx. 1760 meters) and includes several tricky sections. The climb is by no means without risks, as some participants have experienced. This can be seen in several photos in the slideshow below.
The main attraction is the demonstrations of cars from the most important motorsport disciplines and the so-called supercars. The cars are driven by more or less well-known drivers, ranging from current Formula 1 drivers to rally drivers from the 1960s.
On occasions like this, images speak louder than words, which is why we present you with the selection below, compiled by our editorial team member Phil Seed.
