Louwman Museum presents itself at Retro Classics
March 8, 2016
No fewer than 9 cars from the Louwman Museum collection will be on display at the Retro Classics show in Stuttgart
With 125,000 m2, Retro Classics is the largest European trade fair for classic automobiles and takes place from 17 to 20 March.

The Louwman Museum stand can be found in a prominent location in the entrance hall of the exhibition center. The aim of the presentation is to introduce visitors, especially from southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland, to the varied collection of the Louwman Museum and ultimately entice them to visit the museum.

The selection of automobiles on display at Retro Classics includes the only surviving Benz 5 PS Phaeton from 1895, the Maserati 8CM Monoposto Grand Prix Car from 1933, driven among others by Tazio Nuvolari, Piero Taruffi and Raymond Sommer, the Benz Prinz-Heinrich racer from 1910, the dazzlingly beautiful Talbot Lago 150 SS Figoni & Falaschi Coupe from 1937, the so-called shortnose Jaguar D-Type XKD359 from 1955, the unorthodox Cyklon 6 PS Cyklonette from 1912, the eccentric Cygnet Baby Swan Car from 1920 and the Mercedes Nurnberg 500 of the German Emperor Wilhelm II from 1933.

The showpiece of the stand, and indeed of the entire fair, will undoubtedly be the most famous Mercedes model of all time, the Mercedes-Benz SSK from 1929.
