The passion of the Louwman family

The foundation of the museum lies in the passion of the Louwman family, who began collecting special vehicles in 1934 to preserve them for future generations. What started as a personal collection gradually grew over the years into a carefully curated assemblage of more than 275 antique and classic automobiles.

Official opening of the museum

The museum was officially opened on 2 July 2010 by Her Majesty Queen Beatrix and has since grown into a place where the history of mobility is told in an accessible and inspiring way.
