Buick 1904 - 1929

The Buick Motor Company was founded in 1903 by David Dunbar Buick in Flint, Michigan. Buick sold the company to James Whiting, and under the management of William Durant, Buick became the largest automobile manufacturer in America. In 1908 Durant founded General Motors as a holding company above Buick and the company continued to grow from there. Buick gained a reputation as a reliable automobile. During World War I they also produced aircraft engines and ambulances. By 1925 Buicks were being exported around the world, including to Belgium and the Netherlands and eventually shipping parts were sent to Belgium for local assembly. GM and Buick still exist to this day. This poster commissioned for the Belgium market promoted 25 years (1904 - 1929) of Buick and General Motors excellence, showcasing Buick automobile models. The tagline “25 jaar aan de spits” literally means “25 years at the top”. Lith. Etabl. O. De Rycker, S.A. Bruxelles - Forest D.R. -38 -28 -D -1400
