Humphrey Cook (1893-1978)-karikatuur
The modest but very enthusiastic Cook began racing in 1914. In the early 1920s he drove Vauxhalls and later Bugattis, mainly at Brooklands. In 1931 he drove for Aston Martin. He helped to establish the ERA racing marque and later competed in several races for that brand. This series of caricatures was created by Frederick Gordon Crosby in 1935. The drivers depicted were famous among British motorsport enthusiasts at the time, especially for their performances on the Brooklands banked circuit and at major events on the continent.
