Sammy Newton (1901-1970)-karikatuur

Sammy Newsome was active in sports car racing in the 1920s and 1930s. In 1929 and 1930 he took the class win in a Lea-Francis S-Type Hyper. He achieved a third class win in 1932 in an Aston Martin 1 1/2-liter Le Mans. Like many British drivers of that period, he also raced frequently on the Brooklands circuit. This series of caricatures was created by Frederick Gordon Crosby in 1935. The drivers depicted were famous at the time among British motorsport enthusiasts, especially because of their performances on the Brooklands banked track and at major events on the continent.
