
The Motoring Lady
Gouache on paper Harry C. Edwards, born in Philadelphia, studied at Adelphi College under J.B. Whittaker and at the Art Students League New York under Harry Siddons Mowbray. Edwards was an illustrator and painter known for his historical compositions. His illustrations were used mainly for advertising purposes. This illustration was presumably used to promote an elegant and functional long Adison-style fabric coat for summer rides.
