Ferrari 500 Superfast Speciale

Ferrari 500 Superfast Speziale

It was no secret that HRH Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands was a great admirer of Ferraris, especially in his favorite color green.

It is widely known that HRH Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands had a fondness for Ferraris, preferably in the color green. Here stands one of the most beautiful Ferraris he ever owned, a 1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast Speziale. Only 37 examples of the Ferrari Superfast were built, and among these already rare models, Prince Bernhards former car is one of a kind. The prince, a good friend of Enzo Ferrari and one of his most loyal customers, commissioned Ferrari to install a 4.0 liter engine instead of the usual 5.0 liter. This smaller engine could be fitted relatively easily into the Superfast chassis, which was based on that of the 330 GT. The car also has unique exterior features, such as the tail lights and the side window surrounds. The bodywork of the Ferrari Superfast was designed by Pininfarina. The car left the factory painted in the special metallic color Verde Pinto and has a very chic biscuit leather interior, both created at the princes special request.
