Inter Cabin Scooter
With its plexiglass dome, airplane-style steering, small wheels and two seats arranged one behind the other, this Inter is a French take on the German Messerschmitt 'Kabinenroller'.
With its plexiglass dome, aircraft-style steering, small wheels and two seats arranged one behind the other, this Inter is a French variant of the German Messerschmitt 'Kabinenroller'. Like that car, the Inter is made by an aircraft factory, S.N.C.A.N. from Lyon, which carries out this work on behalf of a Paris trading company. Powered by a 175 cc single-cylinder Ydral two-stroke engine, the car is indeed a kind of wingless airplane. On the first Inter models, the front wheels can be folded forward to maneuver the car into narrow parking spaces. From 1953 to 1956, around two hundred were built. The brochure states: 'Drive the Inter and you will never want another vehicle again.'
