To reverse with this little Spatz, you must switch off the (motorcycle) engine and start it again.
To drive this little Spatz in reverse, the (motorcycle) engine has to be switched off and restarted. The Spatz – German for 'sparrow', also note the nameplate – is one of the many microcars intended to get Germany mobile again. It was built in the town of Traunreut near Munich. The body is made of fiberglass and consists of an upper and a lower shell. The engine is a 250 cc Sachs producing 14 hp. Around 850 Spatz cars were produced in the mid-1950s, of which about ten were imported into the Netherlands; this is one of them.
