With Jarno Trulli behind the wheel, this Toyota TF109 takes second place in the race at the Suzuka circuit in Japan. In Bahrain, Trulli starts from pole position and eventually finishes in third place. The racing car has a 2.4 liter V8 that delivers 700 hp at 18,000 revolutions per minute. Normally such an engine lasts for two Grand Prix weekends, but the lifespan of this engine has been extended to three races. The car has seven gears and the total weight is 600 kilograms. The Panasonic Toyota team competes in Formula 1 from 2002 to 2009. During that time it achieves a podium finish thirteen times. The Italian driver Jarno Trulli is added to the team in 2004. In 2009, Toyota secures fifth place in the final standings of the World Championship with a total of 59.5 points.
