Louwman Museum participates in the 34th Gran Premio Nuvolari

From 19 to 22 September 2024, the Louwman Museum took part in the 34th edition of the Gran Premio Nuvolari, a historic rally held in honor of legendary racing driver Tazio Nuvolari. The museum competed with the classic Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport Testa Fissa, a car with a rich racing history, driving through the beautiful Italian countryside.
Day 1: From Mantova to Modena
The rally started in Mantova, where the Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Testa Fissa was ready at the start line. On the first day, the team drove along Lake Garda and followed winding mountain roads toward Verona. The day ended with their arrival in Modena, after a beautiful drive through the countryside. The team enjoyed the first day of the event, full of varied roads and pleasant moments.
Day 2: Heading to the coast in Rimini
On the second day, the route started again in Mantova and continued on to Arezzo, after which the team drove further to Rimini. The roads were winding and posed an interesting challenge for the Alfa Romeo, but the team managed to keep up a good pace. The day ended on the coast in Rimini, where everyone could look back on a successful second stage.
Day 3: Back to Mantova with some challenges
On the final day, the team departed from Rimini for the last stage back to Mantova. However, the rain caused a few unexpected changes to the route. The team had to improvise along unfamiliar roads, but ultimately reached the finish in Mantova without any problems. This success was rewarded with third place in the Dutch classification.
A special experience
The Gran Premio Nuvolari 2024 was a successful and special experience for the Louwman Museum. Driving through the beautiful Italian landscapes, together with the unique atmosphere of the rally, made for an unforgettable participation. The Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport Testa Fissa proved not only its classic charm, but also its reliability. The team looks back on this event with great pleasure and is looking forward to the next edition.
