Ode to the Ferrari GTO and 599 GTO

Does your heart start beating faster when you hear the names 599 GTO and 288 GTO? What happens to you when you are standing face to face with these two sports coupes? The two GTO offspring from Ferrari will be shining throughout the month of November in the Louwman Museum. GTO, a legendary label within the Ferrari ranks. For one sports car it is part of the nameplate, for the other it actually is its nickname. The GTO, also known in everyday speech as the 288 GTO, and the 599 GTO are Gran Turismo Ommologato models created in favor of track monsters. The GTO was built as a homologation special for a Group B race and rally car, and the 599 GTO was the street legal version of the track beast 599XX. Both sports coupes were produced in strictly limited numbers of 272 and 599 units respectively, which means they are rarely seen, let alone together as a duo. The GTOs can be seen from 4 through 30 November 2025
