Automobiles De Dion-Bouton Moteurs
1910
Henri Thiriet was a reclusive personality who created several memorable cycling and motoring posters. He was a prolific French poster artist, book illustrator and he painted in a flamboyant Art Nouveau style. De Dion-Bouton was a renowned French automobile, engine, railcar, tricycle and motorbike manufacturer. The company was founded in 1883 (-1953) by Marquis Jules-Albert de Dion, George Bouton and Charles Armand Trépardoux. Albert de Dion is referred to as the father of the French automobile industry. Thiriet’s imagination knows no boundaries and here the Dion-Bouton factory in Puteaux is generating a legion of automobiles whilst burning the midnight oil. The lady on the moon watches on as the automobiles literally fly out of the factory into the night to join the stars in the sky. Printing House J.Barreau, 16 Rue Littré, Paris
