
Lithograph on paper Noel Dorville was a French painter who was known for his newspaper cartoons and posters. He made many portraits of French politicians and writers of his time. In 1919 he was present as a journalist at the Paris Peace Conference, where he captured among others Woodrow Wilson, David Lloyd George and Georges Clemenceau in personal drawings. He regularly contributed to L'Assiette au beurre, an illustrated French weekly satirical anarchist magazine. The poster promotes the use of Huile Rigal (oil) for automobiles.
