Raymond Mays winning the 1937 British Empire Trophy at Donington Park

Raymond Mays won the British Empire Trophy at the Donington Park circuit in 1937 with his 1.5 liter ERA. Mays was a driver from the prewar period and played an important role in the creation of the ERA (English Racing Automobiles Ltd) cars. In 1937 ERA and Mays dominated the Voiturette season. In 1939 Mays ran his ERA as a privateer. He stopped racing after the 1949 International Trophy.
