Crosley Cd Four Super
A car that seems completely out of proportion: small wheels, a short, narrow and therefore somewhat stumpy body. Yet the car has a normal height and beltline.
A car that seems completely out of proportion: small wheels, a short, narrow body that therefore looks rather stumpy. Yet the car has a normal height and beltline. As early as 1939, American radio manufacturer Powel Crosley Jr. tries to realize his dream of bringing a small car to market for a wider audience. During the war the cars are attractive because of their fuel economy, but this success does not last, and in 1952 the factory is sold. The Crosley CD Four is available among other things as a two door sedan, coupe, station wagon and business coupe. There is also a sports car, the Hotshot. Reportedly, it was also Crosley who first used the term Sports Utility. Well known Crosley owners included film actor Humphrey Bogart and architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
