Ford Model T Tudor
Sober and solid, that is roughly the definition of the Ford Model T, also known as the T Ford, of which fifteen million were built between 1908 and 1927.
There are libraries full of books written about this one type of car, which some even regard as the car of the twentieth century: the Ford Model T, also known as the T-Ford. From 1908 to 1927 fifteen million cars of this model are built. That became possible because from 1913 onward the T-Ford was the first car in the world to be produced on an assembly line. According to Henry Ford, the T-Ford is available in any color, as long as it is black. This has to do with the drying of the paint; black dries the fastest and therefore reduces production time and costs. The Ford Model T can be seen as the car that put America on wheels. At a certain point during the production period, half of all the cars in the world are T-Fords. The fact that the car is easy to assemble and inexpensive does not detract from its quality. The T-Ford is incredibly robust and reliable. It was specially developed for the poor, unpaved roads in the United States. The chassis is made of strong vanadium steel. The gears two forward and one reverse are operated with pedals. The name Tudor has nothing to do with the English royal house. It is a corruption of two-door. Just as the designation of the four-door version was also a play on words: Fordor. This Ford Model T Tudor has been part of the collection since 1935.
