Aston Martin Db5 James Bond

Aston Martin Db5 James Bond

Forever linked to each other: James Bond (Sean Connery) and Aston Martin. This is the original DB5 that secret agent James Bond receives from engineer 'Q' in the film Goldfinger to carry out his mission.

The Aston Martin includes the following technical gadgets: - Two Browning machine guns behind the front turn indicators - Hydraulically extendable bumpers for use as a battering ram - Rotating license plate with British, Swiss and French plates - Smoke generator to create a smoke screen - Oil pump at the rear to make the road surface slippery for pursuers - Mechanism to scatter caltrops on the road - Extendable bulletproof screen to cover the rear window - Navigation/radar system to track cars - Last but not least: an ejector seat to get rid of unwanted passengers The creator of all this deadly technology is Ken Adam, who is attached to the film production. He is inspired by his experiences in the Royal Air Force in the Second World War, where he flies a heavily armed Hawker Typhoon. All modifications to this DB5, one of the three examples that has a full set of equipment (two of which still exist), were carried out at the Aston Martin factory.
