Lancia-Abarth Lc1 Sport Spider
1982
With this Lancia-Abarth LC1, with a top speed of 350 km/h, three race victories and three pole positions are achieved in 1982.
At the moment when Lancia wants to enter Group 6 (two seater sports cars) in 1982, this racing class is phased out in favor of the new Group C (prototypes). Thanks to the fuel regulations, this Lancia Abarth LC1, with its relatively small 1.4 liter four cylinder turbo engine producing 450 hp, is nevertheless allowed to compete in Group C. In 1982 it achieves three race victories and three pole positions. It is an incredible achievement and a technical tour de force to generate so much power from such a small engine. The car has a top speed of 350 km/h. Well known Lancia Abarth LC1 drivers include Riccardo Patrese, Michele Alboreto and Alessandro Nannini. In 1983 the LC1 is replaced by the LC2, which fully meets the Group C requirements.
