Lancia Appia Berlina

Lancia Appia Berlina

The small Lancia Appia family car is, according to some unfairly, a bit overshadowed by its larger and more luxurious siblings like the Aurelia and the Flaminia.

The small Lancia Appia family car is, according to some unfairly, somewhat overshadowed by its larger and more luxurious brothers like the Aurelia and the Flaminia. Under the Appias hood is a 1.1 liter V4 engine with Lancias characteristically small block angle, in this case 10 degrees. The steering wheel is on the right, an option many Italian drivers of the time preferred because it made it easier to get in and out on the sidewalk side. Getting in and out is also made easier for rear passengers by the rear hinged doors. There are also coupe and convertible versions by famous designers such as Vignale and Zagato, as well as van and pickup variants.
