Maserati A6g 2000 Frua Spider
This A6G Spider designed by Frua is considered one of the most beautiful Maseratis ever.
One of the most beautiful Maseratis ever built is this A6G Spider designed by Frua. A sporty white panel on the hood, modest chrome trim, a slightly forward-leaning grille and an accentuating kink in the front bumper. Only fourteen Maserati A6G 2000s were bodied by Frua in 1956-1957, of which in all likelihood nine were built as Spiders. After the war the A6 is a great success for Maserati. Initially the car has a 1.5 liter engine, later a two-liter. Both versions still have only a single overhead camshaft. The hiring of Ferrari and Alfa Romeo engineer Colombo in 1954 changes that. Colombo reworks the six-cylinder and equips the engine with a second camshaft, larger carburetors and twin ignition. As a result he manages to upgrade the engine to 140 hp, while the original 1947 engine produced only 65 hp. This Spider even has 160 hp.
