Oldsmobile Model R 'Curved Dash' Runabout'

Oldsmobile Model R 'Curved Dash' Runabout'

This car is known as the 'Curved Dash' because of its curved dashboard.

More than 11,000 Oldsmobile Runabouts were produced in total between 1901 and 1907. This makes the Curved Dash the first American car to be produced in large numbers. The many promotional campaigns and exhibitions by Oldsmobile helped the general public come to see the car as a viable and economical alternative to the horse. Although the standard Curved Dash is relatively primitive, this car is equipped with a number of options. The most striking are the dos-a-dos rear seat with folding footrest, the top, and a set of oil lamps. This example still has its original paint and painted Oldsmobile emblems on both sides. A beautiful example of the best-known and most recognizable veteran car from America.
