Thanks in part to its bright yellow color and beautiful copperwork, this is one of the most photogenic cars in the museum. The Peugeot emblem on the radiator is executed in elegant Art Nouveau, an art movement that was already losing influence around 1910. The wooden bodywork was made by Michel & Cie from Marseille. It is a true touring car, equipped among other things with a storage console between the front seats. A windshield wiper is attached to the windscreen, which can be moved back and forth by hand. The spare wheel is of the Stepney type. Tire trouble was quite common in those days, and with the Stepney system the spare wheel is bolted with wing nuts onto the wheel with the flat tire. After that, the journey can be continued to a garage or workshop. This Peugeot Type 126 has a 2.2 liter four cylinder engine and was built at the factory in Audincourt. Around 350 examples of this type were produced.
