Lincoln Continental Coupe

Lincoln Continental Coupé

This is the Lincoln Continental V12 of 'Sonny' Corleone, eldest son of Don Vito Corleone, in the film The Godfather (1972).

This is the car of Sonny Corleone, the eldest son of Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather. In a scene that everyone who has seen The Godfather remembers, Sonny drives up to an old toll booth. Gangsters armed with machine guns step out of the Buick in front of him and riddle Sonny with bullets while he is standing in front of his car. Fortunately, this Lincoln Continental was replaced by two other Lincoln Continental Coupes after arriving at the toll booth. In one of them, .45 holes were drilled, while the other was fitted by the special effects team with explosives with electric ignition to simulate the impact of the bullets. Sonny Corleone did not survive the attack, but this Continental did. Some cars are famous in their own right, others for what they have done. This car is famous for both. A rare, high quality car that acted in one of the most chilling and memorable scenes ever filmed.
