The Tulpenrallye is held for the first time in 1949, and this Riley RMA is one of the participants. The owner bought the car two years earlier with the intention of using it intensively. The Riley is also entered in other motorsport events, including at the Zandvoort circuit. The first owner drives it for around 300,000 kilometers. The engine does not last that long, but the factory installs a new one. The car remains in the possession of the first owner for twenty years. In the mid-1960s he sells the Riley, but in the 1990s he gets the car back again. Around 2008 the Riley is fully restored. Before the war, the British marque Riley is well known for its sports and racing cars. In the late 1930s it runs into financial difficulties and is taken over by the Nuffield Organisation. In 1952 the brand is absorbed into the British Motor Corporation and later into British Leyland, which liquidates the marque in 1969.
