Charlie Martin (1913-1998)-caricature

Charlie Martin raced primarily at Brooklands and at Le Mans, between 1932 and 1937. He drove an Alfa Romeo in the inaugural Hungarian Grand Prix in 1936. Cars he drove include MGs and Bugattis. He later served as the Vice-President of the Brooklands Society.

These caricatures were drawn by Frederick Gordon Crosby in 1935. The racing drivers shown were well-known to the British racing enthusiasts of that era, particularly due to their performances at the Brooklands track and major events on the continent.
