The Monaco Grand Prix 1938

For the 1937 Monaco Grand Prix, Mercedes produced the brand new W125, with supercharged straight-eight engine of 5660 cc and a power output of 646 bhp at 5800 rpm.

The most exciting duel in the race developed between two members of the Mercedes-team – Manfred Von Brauchitsch and Rudolf Caracciola. In this illustration, Caracciola is lapping Nino Farina’s Alfa Romeo, while Von Brauchitsch’s car, in the lead, goes through the right-hander before the descent back to the sea.
