Grande Semaine D’Aviation Caen 1910

Lithograph on paper Two women in grey dresses with flowing white shawls observe from the height of the Saint-Pierre church in Caen two airplanes (including a Farman) and a hot air balloon in the orange-yellow glow of a sunset above the Abbaye-aux-Hommes. The Caen Aviation Society (1909–1910), at Rue de Bernieres 10 in Caen, had just been founded to organize this tournament. One can experience a sense of freedom in this poster. Through the depiction of the freedom to fly as high as a bird and float through the air.
