Pegaso Z-102 Cúpula
The lines of this Spanish Pegaso were inspired by the then prevailing hype around UFOs and flying saucers.

There are no bumpers; instead, rosettes with impact rubbers are fitted. The most distinctive design feature, however, is the dome shaped rear window, hence the type designation Cupula. The futuristic design was created by ENASA, also the parent company of Pegaso, and exhibited in 1953 at the New York Auto Show. Not only because of its design, but also due to its striking color scheme, the car attracted everyones attention, including that of Rafael Trujillo, president of the Dominican Republic. Trujillo bought the Pegaso and kept it until his death in 1961. Since Trujillos ownership this Pegaso has borne the nickname El Dominicano. The Louwman Museum acquired the Pegaso in 2006 and three years later an intensive restoration began, which would last until 2015. In 2016, during the Concours dElegance at Amelia Island (USA), the car was chosen Best of Show by the international jury.
