The Spyker 15/22-HP is the successor to the 14/18-HP model and is equipped with a low-pressure lubrication system for the engine. Using buttons on the dashboard, the driver can now control the lubrication of the engine bearings. The engine's oil consumption can now be reduced by eighty percent, causing the blue exhaust fumes that were common at the time to disappear. Around 1905, Spyker delivers an average of one hundred cars per year, and in 1906 even 250. The quality of the product is good, but due to poor purchasing and sales policies, Spyker runs into financial trouble in 1907. On top of that, the French importer orders five hundred Spykers, but cancels this order after the factory has already bought the materials. Spyker is left with the materials, as well as a debt of almost two million guilders. This drives the company into bankruptcy.
