Toyota TF109 Formula 1 Racing Car

This is the car in which racing drivers Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock, supported by the young Japanese driver Kamui Kobayashi, drove the 2009 Formula 1 season.

The Toyota TF109 finished second at the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka with Jarno Trulli behind the wheel. In Bahrain Trulli started in pole position and eventually came third.

The racing car is equipped with a 2.4-litre V8, producing 700 hp at 18,000 rpm. Normally such an engine would last only two Grand Prix weekends, but the lifespan of this engine was extended to three races. The car has seven gears and weighs a total of 600 kg.

The Panasonic Toyota team participated in Formula 1 from 2002 to 2009, during which time it achieved thirteen podium places. Italian driver Jarno Trulli joined the team in 2004. In 2009 Toyota finished fifth in the World Championship, scoring a total of 59.5 points.
